To understand it, visualise the top ten JEE Main mistakes  committed by the students at the examination centers.

Adopt Techniques to Reduce Mistakes in JEE Main 2025 Exam

Remember, a student's two-year long preparations for the JEE Main 2025 Exam would go futile if one commits mistakes in the examination hall. Mistakes while taking an exam are common because they are an outcome of the student’s stress and strain. Furthermore, stress causes errors that might make a student mark wrong answers instead. Experts say it is a time management game. In addition, a student’s conscious play while attempting the questions is something that matters, be it easy, moderate or difficult.

Integer Type Questions Consume Time : A Probable Myth now !

Many students until this time, considered attempting the integer type questions in the end as they involve complex calculations. Students had a huge choice, out of 10 questions 5 were to be attempted. This year, everything changed, in maths, choice has been eliminated thus to attempt all the questions is essential. So the logic is, there is a possibility that the integer questions might be simple and not lengthy in solving. Therefore, such questions can eliminate the time loss. So, do not be in the myth that integers are proven tough. Thus ,  be mindful in answering the MCQ and integers in sequence without skipping questions on integers. It is a better way to reduce JEE Main Mistakes.

Maths seems Difficult so Shall Attempt later

Some students feel panic with Maths paper, so they derive an alternative method, they pick physics and chemistry to solve first for a maximum score. Then, attempt math in the end. It is a known fact that Maths paper is tough through several years, but remember JEE Mains exams are unpredictable. This time, the overall toughness can be taken over by other subjects either. Therefore, do alter your mindset as the paper setter can create easy, moderate or tough questions. Likewise, you may be put in any shift and the toughness does differ from shift to shift. Always remember that the toughness is the same for all students in a shift belonging to the JEE Main 2025 Exam.

Never Divide Time for Subjects Assuming Toughness

Some students may allot fixed timings for solving the questions, say for physics (40 minutes), Chemistry ( 60 minutes) and Math ( 80  minutes). Such a division of time is  never advisable. A student will never know which subject is tough or easy and it can happen that students may skip physics questions as and when your allotted time is complete. And, jump over to another subject where the paper may be tough there by not being able to score more. And, incidentally, the physics paper may be easy, and the students' time division might not allow them to solve easy questions and thus not let you gain marks. So the best approach is, begin to answer the questions in sequence by skipping the tougher ones and attend those in the end. In conclusion, making a time division according to your understanding is not advisable. Any subject paper can mark easy, moderate or tough in a shift. Be cautious as the subject papers in every shift do differ so you cannot make decisions on the paper standards by peeping into the previous shifts exam papers.

Maintain your Natural Pace, Do not Hurry !

Though not deliberate, some students solve the questions slowly but in the JEE Main exam hall they decide to solve the questions fast. This can cause committing the mistakes and lead to loss of marks. In main exams, such students must work on MCQs and Integers at their natural pace and never change it.

Guess Work, to Score 220 Mark, for obtaining 99 Percentile

Some students may like to attempt the unknown questions, do guess work and who desires to touch the 220 magical figure. And they might end up earning low marks due to negative marking. Most of them do it to reach the 99 percentile but there is likelihood of taking a disastrous path . So, be careful never entertain the guess work while answering the questions. Remember, the scores and percentiles differ from shift to shift. A student will earn  scores depending upon the level of preparedness, and the level of toughness a paper is set for. In a shift, a 180 score can obtain 99 percentile while in another shift 210 score will have obtained 99 percentile. Guess work is never advisable to avoid such JEE Main Mistakes to happen.

Never Favour your Favourite Topics

Never attempt questions with a preconceived notion that such and such topics are the most favourite and can be solved quickly. No, students do not know the level of toughness of that question. In case, students fail to solve their favoured questions then it can lead to stress and depression. So, a student must never begin with their most favoured topic-question but answer questions from start to finish in a sequential manner.

Never Attempt Tough Questions First, Set-aside for Later

Some students may want to crack tough questions first and then attempt easier ones later. It is never advisable, if they are unable to solve such questions, it can lead to stress and anxiety. Then, even the easier questions might remain unsolved. Therefore, attempt easy questions first and this will boost your confidence which can enable students to solve tough and moderate questions as well.

Attempt Questions till last Moment, Stop Revising for Mistake Identification

Some students plan to complete the paper in two and half hours and then contribute the remaining time to engage in identifying the mistakes in the solved ones. Remember, students must attempt as many as possible because every right answer will sum up their total and identifying the wrong doing in solved ones does not bear any significance. It is an examination to score high and not related to the perfection in solving the questions.

Attempt all Doable Questions in the First Round

As students progress through the question papers, remember they must not get stuck at the questions where they are unable to understand properly and try to solve in one-go only. They must always skip such questions and come back in the next round, and this technique will help them to solve the moderate and tough questions at a later stage. Always, remember scoring more marks is significant in this JEE Main Exam.
