The NTA has released the syllabus for the JEE Main 2025 syllabus for the following streams: (B.E/B.Tech), B.Architecture, and B.Planning. Each paper has a specific syllabus that tests your faculties. In the tabular form, you can view the units that are dealt with, for the exam and for the detailed syllabus further, click here. This blog we would like to summon you with a few more important details that you may be curious to know if you haven’t browsed the Internet these days. The NTA has designed a set pattern, marking the answer sheet, and weightage specifics that become an important source of information to make decisions before answering the question papers.
JEE Main Pattern for the three categories of entrance exams are conducted as Paper 1, Paper 2A, and Paper 2B. These papers are computer based test(CBT) mode only. The only examination that will require an A4 paper with pencils is the Drawing test ( Part-III) in pen and paper offline mode as attempted by the B.Arch aspirants.
According to the laid rules by the National Education Policy, NEP, the JEE ( Mains) is conducted in English, Assamese, Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Odia, Punjabi, and Urudu. The NTA has made strict rules and regulations, an applicant will have in the language which was declared in the application form at the time of its submission.
In the JEE Main Pattern, Paper I represents B.E/B.Tech aspirants and you will have to take Part-1 (mathematics), Part-2 (physics), and Part -3 (chemistry). Every Part will have two sections, Section A will have 20 questions (MCQ) and in section B you will have to answer 5 questions and answers bearing numerical value. Each subject is conducted for 100 marks and thereby making the total number marks for 300.
If you are aspiring for a B.Architecture course then Paper 2A shall represent Part-1(mathematics), Part-2(aptitude), and Part-3(drawing paper). Section A and Section B shall remain the same in Part-1, as described for B.E/B.Tech course. The questions and marks for Part-1, Part-2 and Part-3 are in this manner, (Mathematics, 20MCQ,5NAVQ, 100 marks), (Aptitude, 50Questions, 200 marks), Drawing ( 2 Questions, 100 marks). By combining these three parts, the total marks will be 400.
If you are aspiring for a B planning course then the Paper 2B shall have the subjects like Part-1(Mathematics), Part-2 (Aptitude), and Part-3 (Planning). Section A, and Section B remains the same for the Part-1 as described for B.E/B.Tech courses. The questions and marks for Part-1, Part-2 and Part-3 are in this manner, (Mathematics, 20MCQ, 5NAVQ, 100 marks), (Aptitude, 50Questions, 200 marks), Planning based questions ( 25 Questions, 100 marks). By combining these three parts, the total marks will be 400.
All the three parts, Paper1, Paper 2A, Paper 2B are marked in the same manner.
Section A is the MCQ, and Section B is Numerical Value answers, and the rule of marking remains the same.
If you skip the question and keep the answer sheet vacant then no marks will be deducted, but if you attempt a question and give the wrong answer, then you will suffer to lose -1 marks, and for the right answer you will make +4 marks. For an unattempted answer, you will be awarded 0 marks.
