Every year, JEE Advanced, which is the toughest examination in India, gears up the emotions more after the exam, just before the release of JEE Advanced. This year too, it is no exception. The blog contains the JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 and also defines the probable rank for the scores achieved. So, the JEE Advanced cutoff marks become a measure for a candidate, whether one is qualified to apply for the 24 IITs or not. Further, when a JEE Advanced achiever gets qualified for IITs, depending on the category. Every IIT will have a different rank entry level for various branches for the JEE Advanced 2025. Besides this, there is another exciting news for those who qualify for the JEE Advanced.
IIT Mandi, which is located in Himachal Pradesh, has introduced a new integrated course in the stream of business management. Every candidate who gets qualified in the JEE Advanced examination can apply for this newly evolving integrated management course through open competition. Moreover, IIT Madras and Kanpur have also introduced two new streams in academics, Artificial Intelligence and Biomedical Science. JEE Advanced achievers can opt for these through an open competition.
JEE Advanced Cutoff 2025 could be the same as JEE Advanced 2024 because this year’s level and pattern of JEE Advanced 2025 remain the same as the previous year. The type of questions in the morning shift ( paper 01) contains single correct, multiple-correct, paragraph, and integral numerical questions. Each type of question has 4 in number, adding up to 16. The math paper is moderate and lengthy, though easy. The physics paper is a tough type, and is tough, a game changer, and the chemistry is considered to be easy, and several questions relate to NCERT lines, which were conceptual.
Every JEE analyst began to predict that the JEE Advanced cutoff marks to be almost the same as the paper 01, conducted in the morning, exhibited the same properties as the previous year. But the afternoon paper 02 has downvoted the view. The paper 02 held in the afternoon session contradicts paper 01 in all ways and all forms. Math and Physics are difficult, Chemistry paper is moderate yet lengthy. This paper 02 does not comprise paragraph questions, and has a combination of single correct questions, multiple questions, and integral numerical questions in the order of 4, 4, & 8. Experts say that by combining the two shift papers, 01 & 02 will have 300 marks, and the estimated cutoff in JEE Advanced 2025 will be 95 to 100 marks. In both papers, 01 & 02, the exam pattern differed in 2025.
This year, in JEE Advanced 2025, Paper 01 consists of three papers, namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and each paper carries a maximum of 60 marks. Each subject included 4 sections and is described below.
Section 1 consists of 4 questions bearing single correct MCQs, for which +3 marks for the correct answer, -1 mark for the incorrect ones, and 0 for unattempted.
Section 11 consists of 3 questions bearing multiple correct MCQs, for which +4 for each correct answer, partial marks are based on accuracy, and -2 marks for incorrect answers.
Section 111 consists of 6 questions bearing numerical answers, +4 for the correct answer, no negative marking.
Section IV consists of 3 questions bearing match the following, for which +4 for fully correct matches, -1 for incorrect, and 0 for the unattempted question.
Section 1 consists of 4 questions bearing single correct MCQs, for which +3 marks for the correct answer, -1 mark for the incorrect ones, and 0 for unattempted.
Section 11 consists of 4 questions bearing multiple correct MCQs, for which +4 marks for the correct answer, -2 marks for the incorrect ones, and 0 for unattempted.
Section 111 consists of 8 questions bearing numerical value questions for which +4 marks for the correct answer, and negative marking is excluded.
One noticeable observation is that in both papers 01, & 02 consisted of 14 integer-type questions, and with no negative marking for it has boosted the energy of the candidate to make more attempts at these questions.
Every year, the common rank list, CRL, is calculated and published in almost every available medium. After the JEE Advanced 2025, the cutoff marks for different categories for the 2024 were published along with the probable common rank list, CRL, this year.
In JEE Advanced 2024, the Common Rank List, CRL, for the general category (109), OBC, & Gen/EWS (98). Whereas, the expected CRL of JEE Advanced 2025 is most likely between 85- 90 for the General Category, for OBC-NCL & General/EWS, the expected range is 75-80. Candidates belonging to SC, ST & PwD will have to score between 40 - 45.
Serial No | CRL | 2025(Expected) | 2024 |

In India, 23 IITs are divided into three different tiers, namely 1, 2, & 3, and they are tabulated in the above diagram.
With the release of the JEE Advanced results, which is just a few days away from now. Here is the list of the IITs that invite candidates who have qualified with JEE Advanced Cutoff marks and the corresponding range of ranks where one can fall, in contrast to the advanced JEE Advanced 2025 cutoff. Another important aspect in the admission process in the JEE Advanced 2025 is that the cutoff differs and is dependent on the category to which one belongs: general, EBC, SC/ST, or Physically Handicapped. Usually, previous years’ cutoffs stand as a reference to judge the qualifying cutoff and the likelihood of college admission at a college, which is dependent on the college cutoff marks for a specific trade. Although the paper 01 is similar to the previous year’s paper 01, the second paper in the afternoon is completely different. Therefore, it is difficult to predict the college admission for particular cutoff marks this year precisely.
