The National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET) is a golden threshold for aspirants seeking admission to medical courses across India. Over 20 lakhs of aspirants appear for NEET every year for MBBS, BDS, BSC nursing and AYUSH courses. The National Testing Agency(NTA) is responsible for conducting the NEET exam once a year. 

 

Here are some eligible criteria for applicants to follow before applying for NEET 2024. 

 

  • Age Requirement: Candidates must be completed 17 years of age by 31 December 2024.

 

  • Nationality: Applicants must be either Indian citizens, Foreign Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), or Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs).

 

  • Educational Requirements: Students who have either completed or who are appearing in 10,+2, or equivalent are eligible for NEET 2024.

 

  • Subjects: Aspirants interested in applying for NEET 2024 must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English at a recognized board.

 

  • Qualified applicants: Candidates must need 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination. Candidates from OBC-NCL, SC, and ST categories must receive at least 40% of the total marks.

Application Process for NEET 2024

In order to apply, applicants must complete the five steps of the NEET NTA application. Candidates should have all their details ready before filling out the NEET NTA application form 2024. The NTA will release the brochure along with the deadline for NEET 2024 registration. Any candidate who wants to take the test must complete the form before the deadline.

  •  The documents such as passport, ration card, Aadhaar card, bank account passbooks, or any photo ID card issued by the government.

  • Photographs: A recent passport-size photo, signature, and a left thumb impression are needed.

1. How often will NEET UG be conducted in 2024?

The National Testing Agency(NTA) recently announced that the exam will be conducted once only on May 5th 2024. This is consistent with the previous trend of conducting the NEET exam once a year.

2. How many marks are required for cracking MBBS in NEET 2024?

The minimum marks required for MBBS admission depends on the number of applicants and the difficulty level of the exam. But basically for unreserved, it is 50% and for reserved it is 40%. 

3. Which students are eligible to appear for NEET Ug 2024?

The NEET 2024 exam is open to students who finished their Class 12 education with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their core courses.

4. Is it mandatory to take the NEET exam?

Students in India who wish to enrol in undergraduate medical (MBBS/BDS) and dental programs at public or private medical colleges across the country must pass the NEET exam. NEET is also a way through which Indian students can be admitted to AYUSH and BVSc and  AH programs.

5. How should I begin to prepare for NEET 2024?

6. Will NEET be online or offline in 2024? 

No, the NTA conducts NEET UG only in offline mode.

You need to access the official website of NTA and open the NEET 2024 Candidate Login. Then provide your Date of Birth and Security pin. The website will give the information about your exam centre and review it carefully.
